The Winter Harbor 5&10 has been a general store since 1972, when it was founded by Mary and Larry Graffam. The store changed hands when they retired in 1989, at which time it was purchased by Pete and Sandy Drinkwater. After 36 years as proprietors, the store has changed hands once more to its current owners, Emily Ferreira and Forrest Sexton.

The Building
Built in 1922, the building at 349 Main St has long been used as a retail space, originally containing two stores below and a living space above. The picture at the top of this page is what the building looked like in the mid-20th century, before the full renovation that gave us the current appearance. Many of the original features, including the second story windows, remain today.
